Dr. Chu is a comprehensive ophthalmologist (EyeMD/surgeon) whose practice is based primarily in Honolulu. He also has an office on the neighbor island of Molokai where he has family ties (his grandfather was the only dentist on that island for many years and his father grew up there). He has been providing service to that community for the past twelve years

 Dr. Chu specializes in corneal, refractive surgery (LASIK/PRK), advanced cataract surgery. He also takes care of glaucoma and diabetic patients.

Dr. Chu is part Hawaiian and Chinese and was born in Los Angeles. He received his undergraduate degree from UCLA, his medical degree from Chicago Medical School graduating with honors ranked 5th in his class, and completed his ophthalmology residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City.

He received specialized training in cornea and refractive surgery (LASIK,PRK) by completing a fellowship at the prestigious Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital.
